The Nettle plant is a herbaceous perrenial plant which means it is a low growing woody plant which lives for more than 2 years. Nettle plants also flower. They were originally native to Europe, Asia and western North Africa but can be found worldwide.

The nettle plant has a long history of use as a source for traditional medicine, food, tea, and textile raw material in ancient societies.
