Method

Step one

Put the sugarcane pieces into a fruit juicer/sugarcane juice extractor to separate the juice and the sugarcane bagasse. If a normal fruit juicer is used, then use a sieve to separate the mixture. Dry the sugarcane bagasse and the peeled skin for a day. When dried, cut the sugarcane bagasse and the skin into small pieces with scissors.

Step two

Mix water, glycerin, vinegar and cornstarch together. Make sure there are no bits or lumps and that it is well mixed to give a milky colour.

Step three

Heat the mixture in low heat and keep mixing while heating. Once it starts to thicken, add the sugarcane bagasse and mix together.

Step four

Wait for the mixture to get a transparent look. Then place it in a mould & shape. Leave it to air dry for 2-3 days.
