Combine 13 grams of Matcha Green Tea Powder with up to 2 litres of water in a saucepan.
Stir to combine and heat to 80°C.
Evaluate the color of the dye. Modify ingredient proportions to fit your preference. Note: The dye will naturally oxidize as it dries when applied to fibers or used in a bioplastic recipe.
You can make this recipe in batches. Depending on the quality of Matcha Tea, you might be able to get a larger quantity of dye. Store dye in a clean jar or glass for up to 7 days at room temperature. You can keep the in the fridge if you want to keep it longer. You can freeze the dye once it is at room temperature.
